It’s very hard to use the word lucky when you’ve experienced baby loss and are going through pregnancy after loss, but I truly feel unbelievably lucky that, during this extremely dark, joyful, hopeful, confusing, and difficult time in my life, I found Leo’s and my lovely mentor, Danielle.
Our first meeting
From our very first meeting, Danielle made me feel completely at ease. She has always reminded me that my feelings are valid, whatever they may be. During every single session, she made (and continues to make) me feel like the only person in the world. No two calls are ever the same, but every time, Danielle takes my lead and supports me in exactly the way I need.
I truly believe I wouldn’t have coped as well as I did in those early days and even now, without her support. Danielle hasn’t just supported me emotionally; she’s also helped me navigate work issues, hospital visits, and doctor appointments. That kind of practical support, on top of the emotional care she gave me, has been invaluable.
Over the last few months, I’ve also been attending Leo’s Rainbow Babies playgroup with my son. It’s the loveliest atmosphere! You never have to worry about difficult questions… because everyone there just gets it. Thanks to Leo’s, I’ve not only made a lovely friend, but my son has baby friends too!
I will always describe my time with Danielle and Leo’s as life changing. I will always feel so grateful that I found this charity when I did. If you’re someone who sadly finds yourself on this path and are considering reaching out to Leo’s – please do it. I promise you won’t regret it!
