“One day you will tell your story of how you overcame what you went through, and it will be someone else’s survival guide.” – Brené Brown

At Leo’s, our peer support service is one of the most vital things we do.

Why Peer Support Matters

It’s run by people who have lived the neonatal journey themselves – parents who have sat by incubators, faced the unknowns, and carried those experiences home long after discharge. We understand, because we’ve been there too.

Peer support is about more than just listening. It’s about being alongside you in a way that feels safe, validating what you’re going through, and helping you make sense of an experience that can feel overwhelming and isolating. Sometimes it’s having someone to share your thoughts with; other times it’s having someone to step in and advocate for you when you need it most.

What support may look like

  • Supporting you with a birth debrief so your story feels heard and understood
  • Helping you access HR support as you navigate returning to work
  • Offering a listening ear as you process life at home after NICU
  • Simply being a steady presence in the moments when you feel you can’t carry it alone whether you’re in the NICU or at home

There’s no time limit on our support. The NICU journey doesn’t end at discharge, and neither does our care for you. We will hold this space with you, for as long as you need.

Being Present in the Community

We’re currently on a mission to promote our services region-wide so we can reach as many neonatal families as possible, if you work in a profession that offers support in any capacity to families who have spent time on the NICU, get in touch.
