Leo’s provides expert, lived-experience support for families navigating the unique challenges of having a baby born sick or premature who required neonatal care.
We accept referrals for families across Redcar & Cleveland, Middlesbrough, Stockton, Hartlepool, and Darlington.

Her Journey (Young Women Aged 16–25)
A specialised, trauma-informed service funded by the Pilgrim Trust, supporting young mothers and women (aged 16–25 at the time of referral) who have experienced neonatal care or are currently pregnant with a baby at high risk of a neonatal stay.

Her Journey Baby Loss Support
Her Journey is a trauma-informed support service delivered by Leo’s Charity (via the Pilgrim Trust Young Women in Mind programme).
We support young women (aged 16–25 at the time of referral) who have experienced pregnancy, baby, or neonatal loss.
We accept referrals for families across Redcar & Cleveland, Middlesbrough, Stockton, Hartlepool, and Darlington.
The service is specifically designed for women affected by:
In the last three years
- Pregnancy loss including miscarriage and TFMR
- Baby loss, including still birth and neonatal loss (where the loss occurred on the neonatal unit including supporting parents of surviving twins/triplets)
- A current high-risk pregnancy following a previous loss
Available Support Services
- Lived-experience led peer support
- Trauma-informed counselling
- Therapeutic interventions (such as EMDR and CBT)
- Group-based support (currently in development)
Update: We are thrilled to announce that, thanks to new funding from Red Balloons and the Tees Valley Peer Support Network, our baby loss peer support is currently open to all ages for a 16-week project. This service will cover families across the whole of the Tees Valley.

Making decisions about pregnancy can be complex, and life doesn’t always follow a simple path.
If you are a young woman aged 16-25 and have been through a pregnancy termination, or are currently navigating one, we want you to know that you are not alone, and you don’t have to carry your feelings by yourself.
With the kind support of The Pilgrim Trust , we’re offering a safe, confidential space designed to hold you through this experience.
We support young women (aged 16–25 at the time of referral) and we accept referrals from across Redcar & Cleveland, Middlesbrough, Stockton, Hartlepool, and Darlington.
